In a significant victory for Indian esports, Aryan Chauhan, an engineering student hailing from Ujjain, has emerged as the champion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2025. The grand finale of the tournament took place at Delhi's prestigious Yashobhoomi Convention Centre from July 4th to 6th, showcasing the skills of the top 16 BGMI teams from across the country.

Aryan, along with his three teammates from Devas, Surat, and Ranchi, formed the team 'Aryan X TMG Gaming' (AxTMG), which battled their way to the top in the highly competitive tournament. The team's victory earned them a substantial prize of ₹1.25 crore. The runner-up team, NONX, secured the second position and a prize of ₹55 lakh, while Los Hermanos claimed the third spot, taking home ₹35 lakh.

The BMPS 2025 is the fourth edition of the premier Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament, organized by KRAFTON in collaboration with NODWIN Gaming and Tesseract Esports. The tournament began on May 22, 2025, and culminated in the LAN Grand Finals. Hundreds of teams participated in various qualifying rounds, including online phases and semi-final weeks, before the top 16 teams advanced to the Grand Finals. In the Grand Finals, the teams competed in 18 matches over three days.

Aryan X TMG Gaming displayed consistent performance and strategic gameplay throughout the tournament, ultimately securing their victory. Aryan's individual skills and leadership were instrumental in guiding his team to success.

This victory has earned Aryan X TMG Gaming the opportunity to represent India at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, scheduled to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8th to August 24th. The EWC 2025 boasts a massive prize pool of $70.45 million (approximately ₹605 crore), making it one of the largest in esports history.

Aryan, who is pursuing a B.Tech degree at Alpine College, has credited his family, particularly his mother, for their unwavering support of his passion for gaming. He mentioned that his mother's support from a young age motivated him. His mother, Meenakshi Chauhan, initially had reservations about his gaming but recognized his dedication and decided to support his aspirations.

Esports in India is gaining recognition, with the government committed to building infrastructure and supporting career pathways. Raksha Khadse, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, has highlighted the parallels between esports and traditional sports, emphasizing the discipline, mental resilience, and teamwork required in both.

The BMPS 2025 set a new benchmark in the Indian esports scene with a prize pool of ₹2 crore, the largest in the tournament's history. This reflects the growing popularity and potential of esports in India.

Aryan's success serves as an inspiration for aspiring esports athletes in India. His journey from an engineering student to a national champion demonstrates that with dedication and support, Indian talent can shine on the global stage.
