Aasif Khan, the actor best known for his role in the web series "Panchayat," has clarified that he did not suffer a heart attack, despite earlier reports. He was recently discharged from the hospital after a health scare and has explained that he experienced gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which presented symptoms similar to a heart attack.
Khan revealed that the incident occurred after a long drive from his hometown in Rajasthan to Mumbai. That evening, he experienced chest pain and fainted in the bathroom, leading to his hospitalization. Following medical tests, doctors diagnosed him with GERD and advised him to make lifestyle changes, particularly concerning his diet. He has been told to reduce his intake of rich foods like dal baati and non-vegetarian dishes and to incorporate more exercise into his routine.
In an interview with the Times of India, Aasif Khan stated, "First of all, I want to clarify—it was not a heart attack. It was gastroesophageal reflux disease. The symptoms felt like a heart attack, but I'm totally fit". He reassured his fans that he is in good health and optimistic about his recovery.
Despite the health scare, Aasif Khan remains committed to his professional engagements. He believes this episode will not impact his work and is determined to move forward. He also shared that one positive outcome of his hospital stay was a break from his phone and the digital world. Overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support, he expressed gratitude for the messages he received, noting it would take him a month to respond to everyone.
While hospitalized, Aasif Khan shared a reflective message on Instagram, stating, “Realising after watching this for past 36 hours. Life is short, don't take one day for granted. Everything can change in a moment. Be grateful for all you have and all that you are. Remember who is more important to you and always cherish them. Life is a gift and we are blessed". He also posted a health update, thanking everyone for their concern and well-wishes. "Over the past few hours, I've been dealing with some health issues that required hospitalisation. I'm grateful to share that I'm now on the road to recovery and feeling much better. I truly appreciate all the love, concern, and well-wishes. Your support means the world to me. I'll be back very soon,” he wrote.
Aasif Khan has gained recognition for his roles in several popular series and films, including "Mirzapur," "Paatal Lok," "Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega," "Human," and "Panchayat". Most recently, he appeared in the horror-comedy "The Bhootnii".
