An Indian man in his 40s was brutally attacked and stripped in Dublin, Ireland on July 19, 2025, after being falsely accused of inappropriate behavior around children. A woman who intervened to help the man has shared details of the assault, emphasizing the falseness of the accusations. The incident is being investigated as a potential hate crime.
The assault occurred in the Tallaght suburb of Dublin. According to reports, a group of men attacked the Indian national, and he sustained multiple injuries. Witnesses reported that the man was bleeding heavily from wounds to his face, arms, and legs. He was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment.
Jennifer Murray, a local resident who came to the victim's aid, recounted the horrific details of the attack. She stated that the attackers punched the man in the head, causing a gash above his eyebrow. They then allegedly rammed his head into a lamppost three times before proceeding to punch and kick him. The assailants stripped him of his shoes, trousers, underwear, phone, and money, leaving him for dead. Murray described the victim as a "gentle man". She rescued the man after the brutal mob attack.
The Gardaí (Irish National Police) were alerted to the incident on Parkhill Road, Tallaght. A spokesperson confirmed that they attended the scene and that the injured man was taken to the hospital. They have launched an investigation into the assault. The police have stated that the claims of inappropriate behavior towards children are unfounded.
