The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya has taken a dramatic turn as his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is now the prime suspect. In a shocking development, Sonam's own brother, Govind, has publicly accused her of orchestrating the murder, stating he is "100% sure" of her involvement based on the available evidence. This statement has sent shockwaves through both families and the community.

Govind, addressing the media at Raja Raghuvanshi's residence in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, didn't hold back his feelings. He expressed deep remorse and apologized to Raja's family, stating that their loss was unforgivable. He further declared that his family has severed all ties with Sonam. According to Raja’s mother, Uma, after Govind met with Sonam, he said that Sonam should be hanged for her crime.

The case began as a missing person investigation after Raja and Sonam disappeared on May 23rd, shortly after checking out of a homestay in Nongriat village. Raja's body was discovered on June 2nd in a deep gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls. Investigations have since revealed a sinister plot involving Sonam, her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha, and three contract killers.

Meghalaya Police have arrested Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged contract killers - Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi. Meghalaya's Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, has stated that some of the accused have confessed to the crime and that Sonam is "fully involved." The accused have been taken to Shillong for further investigation and court proceedings.

According to police sources, Sonam was in love with Raj Kushwaha and had warned her family of "consequences" if she was pressured to marry Raja. Raja's brother, Vipin, stated that Sonam had informed her mother about her affair with Raj, who was an employee at the family's business, but her mother objected to the relationship and persuaded her to marry within the community. Vipin alleged that Sonam agreed to marry Raja but warned of consequences.

Further details revealed that Sonam and Raj allegedly planned the murder and offered the hired killers ₹20 lakh to carry it out. The plan was allegedly hatched even before the wedding. The group had allegedly met at an empty ground in Scheme Number 155, where they would discuss and prepare every detail of the plan.

Sonam initially claimed that she and Raja were attacked, and he died trying to protect her from robbers. However, police suspect her claims are fabricated and part of a larger conspiracy. They believe Sonam intended to pass off her husband's murder as a robbery gone wrong.

Evidence collected by the police includes a blood-stained shirt belonging to one of the accused, Akash, confirmed to contain Raja Raghuvanshi's blood. Sonam's raincoat, also bearing blood traces, is now under forensic analysis. The murder weapon, a khukri (a curved blade), has been recovered and is being examined. Sonam's mobile phone, which could contain incriminating evidence, is still missing.

The family members of Raja Raghuvanshi have apologized to the Meghalaya government, stating that their image had been tarnished due to the murder case. Sachin Raghuvanshi, brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, thanked the Meghalaya government for standing in their support and solving the case in 17 days.

The case continues to unfold with new details emerging daily, painting a picture of betrayal, deception, and a cold-blooded murder that has shocked the nation.
