Marc Maron is set to premiere his second HBO comedy special, "Marc Maron: Panicked," on Friday, August 1, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, and it will also be available for streaming on HBO Max. This special promises to deliver Maron's signature blend of sharp wit and emotional vulnerability as he navigates the complexities of an increasingly uncertain world.

Maron himself has expressed immense satisfaction with "Panicked," stating, "I feel that this is the best work I've done. Everything came together. The direction, the production design, the shirt, and the bits. HBO gets me, and I'm thrilled to be presented by them". Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, Late Night and Specials, echoed this sentiment, calling Maron "one of the all-time greats" and praising his stand-up for its ability to make you laugh while also cutting right to the bone. She further noted that he's "funny, raw, and entirely one of a kind".

"Marc Maron: Panicked" marks Maron's sixth stand-up special. In the special, Maron offers his nuanced perspective on our increasingly uncertain world. Fans can anticipate Maron's trademark introspective and observational humor as he tackles contemporary anxieties and personal reflections.

Beyond stand-up, Maron has been actively engaged in various projects. Most recently, "Are We Good?," a documentary chronicling his career and journey of overcoming grief and loss, premiered at SXSW and screened at the Tribeca Festival. He currently stars alongside Owen Wilson in the Apple TV+ golf comedy series "Stick". His upcoming credits include "The Bad Guys 2," "In Memoriam," and "Deliver Me from Nowhere".

Adding another layer to his artistic endeavors, Maron recently showcased his musical side at Largo in Los Angeles, performing a cover of Taylor Swift's "Bigger Than The Whole Sky". He has also used his "WTF" podcast to discuss securing the rights to use the song in "Panicked," emphasizing its pivotal role in the special. Video footage of Maron performing the song with a band at Largo has been posted. Maron also recently announced that he will end his WTF podcast, whose episodes typically feature his skillful guitar playing.

Maron's career boasts numerous accolades, including WGA Awards and Critics Choice Awards nominations for his past specials. His podcast, "WTF with Marc Maron," launched in 2009, has garnered a peerless reputation, attracting over 50 million listeners annually with over 1,600 episodes recorded to date; the podcast is coming to an end this fall. He also starred in the Netflix series "GLOW," for which he received a Critics Choice Award nomination and SAG Award nomination, as well as the scripted series "Maron," which aired for four seasons on IFC.
