Vijay Deverakonda's highly anticipated spy thriller, "Kingdom," directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is set to premiere in the United States on July 30, 2025, ahead of its Indian release on July 31. This gives American audiences a head start in experiencing the film.
The film stars Vijay Deverakonda as Constable Surya "Suri," along with Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev in key roles. "Kingdom" is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, known for his film "Jersey". The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and presented by Srikara Studios. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film, marking the first collaboration between the actor and composer.
Shloka Entertainments, the US distributor for "Kingdom," announced that over 15,000 tickets had already been sold for the premiere shows. Some reports indicate over 20,000 tickets have been sold. The premiere is scheduled for 1:30 PM EST, 12:30 PM CST, and 10:30 AM PST across different US time zones on July 30. In India, the first shows will begin after 7 AM IST in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on July 31.
The US premiere of "Kingdom" is a departure from the usual box office release strategy, where premieres are often aligned between India and the US. This early access for American fans demonstrates the anticipation surrounding the film.
"Kingdom" has already grossed close to $300,000 from premiere shows in the USA and Canada. Given the strong advance sales, there are plans to add another 200 shows to the existing 578 premiere shows. "Kingdom" is expected to be Vijay Deverakonda's biggest worldwide grosser, potentially surpassing the success of films like "Geetha Govindham" and "Kushi". The film has already exceeded the premiere advance sales figures of films like "Hit 3" and "Hari Hara Veera Mallu".
The recently released trailer has resonated well with audiences, blending mass storytelling with intense emotions. Vijay Deverakonda described "Kingdom" as a film driven by Gowtam Tinnanuri's signature storytelling, intense emotional arcs, and high-action sequences. The film is reportedly the first installment in a planned two-part series.
"Kingdom" was initially scheduled for release earlier in 2025 but faced production delays, leading to multiple postponements. In addition to its Telugu release, the film will also be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The Hindi version is presented by Aditya Bhatia (Adwise Movies) and Atul Rajani and will be distributed across North India by AA Films. Following its theatrical run, the film has also secured an OTT release.
