Kajol recently shared her perspective on the challenging period in 2012 when a conflict arose between her husband, Ajay Devgn, and Yash Raj Films (YRF) during the release of Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. In a recent interview, Kajol revealed the emotional stress she faced during the clash and how she felt "helpless" due to her close relationships with both Ajay Devgn and Aditya Chopra.

The controversy stemmed from the box office clash of Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar and Yash Raj Films' Jab Tak Hai Jaan during Diwali 2012. Ajay Devgn's production company, then known as Ajay Devgn FFilms (ADF), filed a complaint with the Competition Commission of India (CCI), accusing YRF of abusing its dominant position to secure a majority of screens for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, thereby limiting the reach of Son of Sardaar. Jab Tak Hai Jaan was the final directorial venture of Yash Chopra, adding another layer of significance to the film.

Kajol, being closely connected to both Ajay Devgn and Aditya Chopra, found herself in a difficult position. In an interview with The Lallantop, she expressed how she felt during the controversy. "Fights are always difficult, especially when they remain unresolved for some time," Kajol said. She further added, "At that point, when you have a situation like that in front of you, both parties were standing for themselves".

The actress admitted that she felt emotionally overwhelmed by the situation, given her deep personal ties to both men at the center of the dispute. "As somebody who was connected to both sides, I felt helpless," Kajol confessed. She revealed that all she could do was wait for time to pass so that the feelings could subside and things could return to normal.

The clash between the two production houses led to a tense environment in the industry, with Ajay Devgn's ADF formally accusing Yash Raj Films of monopolistic activities. The legal confrontation intensified the professional rivalry between the two banners during the Diwali 2012 release. Eventually, the CCI dismissed Devgn's complaint, stating that it lacked merit.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Kajol shared her perspective on conflict and change. "Change is change, it is neither good nor bad," she said. "It is written somewhere that change is eternal. It is the only thing which is constant".

On the work front, Kajol was recently seen in the mythological horror film Maa, co-produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. She is now preparing for her next project, Sarzameen, an action-thriller also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan, which is set to release on July 25.
