Karan Tacker, known for his roles in shows like "Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai" and "Khakhi: The Bihar Chapter," is currently enjoying the success of his recent projects, "Special Ops 2" and "Tanvi The Great". Recently, the actor has been making headlines for his role in "Special Ops 2", where he reprises his role as Farooq Ali, a RAW agent. The series, directed by Neeraj Pandey, is streaming on Jio Hotstar.
One of the most talked-about aspects of Tacker's recent work is his commitment to performing real action and stunts. In "Special Ops 2," he had to confront his fear of heights while shooting a crucial scene on one of the highest dams in the world. Tacker shared a gripping video on social media of himself dangling from the dam with the help of a rope. He expressed gratitude to the stunt professionals who helped him overcome his fear and gave him confidence.
Tacker elaborated on the challenges of shooting in tough locations for "Special Ops 2," emphasizing director Neeraj Pandey's focus on realism. According to Tacker, Pandey likes to keep the action "as close to contact as possible" to avoid making it look like acting. This meant Tacker was often "getting punched, kicked, and thrown around," adding to the challenge. However, he stated that the biggest challenge was overcoming his fear of heights, which required significant mental preparation.
Tacker shared that he had to push through his phobia, knowing that his character, as an agent, couldn't afford to crack under pressure. He further explained that if he were truly an R&AW agent, he couldn't let pressure get to him and that his job would be to remain sharp under pressure. This mindset helped him stay focused and deliver, even when the weather conditions were unfavorable.
Beyond the physical challenges, Tacker values the learning experiences he gains on set. He revealed that he enjoys observing directors and learning from their vision. Tacker specifically mentioned observing Neeraj Pandey, whom he described as a man of few words, and credited him with teaching him valuable perspectives. He emphasized the importance of enjoying the shooting experience, as the outcome of a project is not always in one's hands.
In addition to "Special Ops 2," Tacker also has "Tanvi The Great," which was released in theaters. The film, directed by Anupam Kher, features Boman Irani and newcomer Shubhangi Dutt. It follows the journey of a young autistic woman who is determined to fulfill her late father's dream. "Tanvi The Great" was screened at the Cannes Film Market, which Tacker attended. He described working with Anupam Kher as a pleasant experience, noting Kher's ability to get the best performance out of actors.
