Ajay Devgn's "Son of Sardaar 2," also starring Mrunal Thakur, has demonstrated a steady performance at the Indian box office during its first weekend. The comedy-drama has earned ₹14.75 crore in its first two days, despite competition from "Dhadak 2".

On its second day, early estimates suggest that "Son of Sardaar 2" has collected around ₹7.5 crore, which is approximately the same as its opening day collection of ₹7.25 crore. According to early estimates, the film's total earnings after two days stand at approximately ₹14.75 crore.

Although the film didn't witness a significant surge in collections on its second day, there was a slight improvement, potentially boosted by the weekend. The occupancy rates in theaters also saw a modest increase as the day progressed. Specifically, morning shows had an occupancy of 8.05%, which then rose to 22.96% in the afternoon and 28.10% in the evening.

The film had an overall 25.94% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday, August 02, 2025. "Son of Sardaar 2" had a slow start with just 10.24% occupancy in the morning, but gradually picked up through the day—17.88% in the afternoon, 21.84% in the evening, and a strong 40.27% during night shows, nearly double its morning turnout.

In terms of regional performance, Jaipur and Lucknow led in occupancy rates, with 32.00% and 29.00% respectively. The NCR region followed closely with 28.00%, while Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai reported moderate turnout. Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Hyderabad showed average engagement, whereas cities like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, and Surat reported relatively low attendance.

The film has underperformed in its first two days and Day 3 is also expected to be underwhelming. Ideally, the film needed to collect at least ₹40-45 crore net in its opening weekend, but the actual total will fall well short of that mark.
