A tragic incident occurred at the sold-out Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 2, 2025, where a fan died after an apparent fall. The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and appealing to concertgoers for any video footage that may help clarify what happened.
The incident took place around 10:19 p.m. while Liam and Noel Gallagher were performing for the packed crowd. Police officers and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious injury. Despite their efforts, the man, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that his injuries were consistent with a fall. It is believed the man was sitting in the upper tier of the stadium, approximately 170 feet above the ground.
The Metropolitan Police believe that the stadium was busy and that a number of people may have witnessed the incident or unknowingly captured it on their mobile phones. They are urging anyone with information or video footage, regardless of how irrelevant it may seem, to come forward to aid the investigation.
Oasis released a statement expressing their sorrow and condolences. "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night," the band stated. "Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved". During their Wembley Stadium gig on Sunday night, the band dedicated the track "Live Forever" to "all the people who can't be here tonight". Liam Gallagher added, "This one's for all the people who can't be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren't they looking lovely".
Wembley Stadium also issued a statement, saying, "Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers". Despite the tragedy, the scheduled shows continued, with the Sunday night performance going ahead as planned.
Witnesses at the concert described the scene as "horrific". One fan, who was seated in a lower tier, recounted on social media seeing paramedics attempting to revive the man. Another concertgoer shared their experience on Facebook, stating they were in block 511 when the person next to them slipped on the railing and fell.
The Oasis reunion tour, the first time in 16 years that Liam and Noel Gallagher have performed together, kicked off on July 4 in Cardiff, Wales. The tour includes multiple shows at Wembley and in the Gallagher's hometown of Manchester.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Metropolitan Police.
