Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), has been awarded the Guinness World Record for the "Most people registered on a Citizen Engagement Platform in one month". The recognition comes after the 8th edition of the program, held earlier this year, garnered a record 3.53 crore valid registrations on the MyGov platform.
The official Guinness World Record certificate was presented at a ceremony in New Delhi. The event was attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Railways, and I&B Ashwini Vaishnaw, MoS for Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada, senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Electronics & IT, and other key stakeholders. Rishi Nath, the official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, validated the record.
Pariksha Pe Charcha is a unique platform conceptualized and led by PM Modi where he directly interacts with students, teachers, and parents. Launched in 2018, the annual outreach aims to encourage stress-free exam preparation. The program focuses on experiential learning, helping students tackle challenges like exam anxiety, digital distractions, and time management through real-time interaction with the Prime Minister.
Dharmendra Pradhan hailed PPC as a transformative step toward making examinations a time of joy and learning rather than anxiety. He said that PPC has been redefined as a national approach to examinations by turning stress into a festival of learning under the Prime Minister's leadership. Pradhan also noted that the eighth edition of PPC witnessed over 21 crore viewership across all media platforms. The Union Education Minister acknowledged the overwhelming response, highlighting over 21 crore cumulative viewership across television and digital channels for PPC 2025.
Ashwini Vaishnaw described PPC as a platform that promotes well-being and career awareness. He highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available to students and said that the Guinness World Record demonstrates the strong public trust in the initiative. Jitin Prasada praised MyGov for leveraging technology to deepen citizen engagement and scale PPC's impact nationwide.
The Pariksha Pe Charcha initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes stress-free, experiential learning. Through interactive sessions, PM Modi addresses students' concerns and offers guidance on various issues related to education and personal development.
The overwhelming participation in Pariksha Pe Charcha is seen as a reflection of the country's collective commitment to holistic and inclusive education and alignment with the vision of a Viksit Bharat. The program has grown into one of India's largest platforms for student engagement, aligning closely with the goals of NEP 2020, which promotes holistic and inclusive learning.
