Following a relaxing vacation, Alia Bhatt was recently spotted returning with her daughter, Raha. The actress was seen holding Raha close and shielding her from the paparazzi. This isn't the first time Alia and Ranbir have been protective of their daughter's privacy.
In fact, earlier this year, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor made a formal request to the media to not photograph their daughter, Raha. The couple has been increasingly cautious about Raha's exposure to the media. This request was made during a meet-and-greet with the media, ahead of Alia's birthday on March 15th. Alia and Ranbir expressed their desire to ensure the safety and privacy of their two-year-old child.
During the interaction, Alia mentioned that the widespread use of smartphones and social media makes it difficult to control the spread of Raha's pictures. She acknowledged the paparazzi as being like family and requested their help in protecting Raha. Ranbir echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that they are trying to shield their child from unnecessary attention.
Alia and Ranbir have been clear about not wanting to take legal action against those who take Raha's pictures. However, they warned that repeated violations of their request would leave them with no other choice. Alia also requested that if the paparazzi do happen to capture Raha in a photo, they should cover her face with an emoji before posting it on social media.
The couple officially introduced Raha to the media during the Kapoor family's Christmas brunch two years ago. However, since then, they have been very careful about her exposure.
This concern for privacy reportedly grew after a security breach at Saif Ali Khan's residence. Following that incident, Alia removed all pictures showing Raha's face from her Instagram account. Alia admitted that the incident triggered her biggest fear, "My worst nightmare is someone breaking in and taking Raha away".
Other Bollywood celebrities have also taken similar steps to protect their children's privacy. Ranbir's cousin, Kareena Kapoor Khan, also asked the paparazzi to not photograph her sons, Taimur and Jeh, after the attack on her husband, Saif Ali Khan.
While balancing their public lives and protecting their child's privacy, Alia and Ranbir's actions reflect a growing awareness and concern among celebrity parents regarding the impact of media exposure on their children.
Prior to this public appearance, Alia Bhatt had been enjoying a beach vacation with her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, her mother, Soni Razdan, and Shaheen's boyfriend, Ishaan Mehra. Shaheen shared glimpses of their vacation on Instagram, featuring relaxation, scenic views, and fitness sessions. Alia has several projects in the pipeline, including YRF's Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
