In Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, a recent encounter resulted in the death of three terrorists. The operation, named "Keller," was initiated by the Indian Army based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the Shoekal Keller area. A search and destroy operation was launched, leading to a fierce firefight in which the three terrorists were eliminated.

The Army stated that the operation was based on specific intelligence from a Rashtriya Rifles Unit. During the search, the terrorists opened heavy fire, prompting a response that resulted in their deaths. Two of the slain terrorists have been identified as Shahid Kuttay and Adnan Shafi Dar. Shahid Kuttay, a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had been involved in attacks on tourists and the killing of a BJP Sarpanch. Adnan Shafi Dar was involved in the killing of a non-local laborer.

This operation comes after India declared that future terror acts would be treated as acts of war, signaling a tougher stance against Pakistan-based groups. It also follows a recent agreement between India and Pakistan to maintain a ceasefire. The armed forces have been conducting combing operations in the forests of South Kashmir and Kistwar since the terror attacks in Pahalgam on April 22.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, United States, two Indian students from Cleveland State University lost their lives in a tragic car accident on Saturday, May 10. The students were identified as 23-year-old Saurav Prabhakar and 20-year-old Manav Patel. The Lancaster County Coroner's Office confirmed that both were pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries, ruling the deaths as accidental.

The accident occurred around 7:08 am on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Brecknock Township, near the Reading Interchange. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and then collided with a bridge. Emergency crews found the driver and rear passenger dead, while the front seat passenger was rushed to Reading Hospital with serious injuries. Saurav Prabhakar was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

The Indian Consulate in New York has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the students and is providing assistance to their families. The consulate stated that they are in contact with the bereaved families and have assured them of all possible support.
