Shefali Jariwala, 'Kaanta Laga' Star, Dies at 42 in Mumbai; Police Investigation Launched.

The entertainment industry is in shock following the sudden death of Shefali Jariwala, the actress and model best known for her iconic role in the "Kaanta Laga" music video. She was 42 years old. Initial reports suggested a cardiac arrest as the cause of death, but Mumbai Police have stated that the reason is yet to be determined and a postmortem examination is underway.

Jariwala was reportedly taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai late Friday night by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others. According to hospital staff, she was deceased upon arrival. Her body was then transferred to Cooper Hospital for postmortem procedures. The police received information about the incident around 1 am on Saturday.

The news of Jariwala's death was first shared on social media by journalist Vickey Lalwani. The unexpected passing of the actress has sent waves of grief through her fans and the Bollywood community.

A police team and a forensics unit have visited Jariwala's residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai as part of the investigation. According to the security guard at her residence, Shefali was taken to the hospital around 10:30 PM. Before that, around 9 PM, her husband Parag Tyagi came to the society on a motorcycle. The security guard also noted the presence of police and forensic units at the residence since the previous night.

An old interview has resurfaced where Shefali spoke about her long battle with epilepsy and how it affected her career. She revealed that she was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 15. She explained that stress and anxiety could trigger seizures.

Shefali Jariwala gained immense popularity with the "Kaanta Laga" song in the early 2000s. She went on to appear in various music albums and films. She also participated in dance reality shows like "Nach Baliye 5" and "Nach Baliye 7" with her husband, Parag Tyagi. Additionally, she was a contestant on "Bigg Boss 13". Jariwala was previously married to Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros, before marrying Parag Tyagi in 2014.
