The first look of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has taken the internet by storm, with images of the film's poster lighting up New York City's Times Square going viral across social media platforms. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

The grand unveiling of Ramayana began on July 3, 2025, with a simultaneous launch across nine major Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. This unprecedented event in Indian film history was followed by the film's international debut in North America, with visuals displayed on the iconic digital billboards of Times Square. This move signifies a global release and a cultural crossover, positioning Ramayana as India's answer to Hollywood blockbusters.

Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film is being shot for an IMAX release, promising a theatrical experience of epic proportions. The saga will unfold in two parts, with Part 1 expected to arrive in theaters during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 during Diwali 2027.

The film boasts an ensemble cast of prominent names in Indian cinema. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the film stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film also has a stellar creative team. Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman are composing the film's soundtrack, marking Zimmer's Bollywood debut. Action sequences are choreographed by Guy Norris, known for Mad Max: Fury Road. Terry Notary, known for his work in Avengers and Planet of the Apes, is also part of the team.

Director Nitesh Tiwari expressed his views on the project, stating that Ramayana is a story that everyone has grown up with and carries the soul of Indian culture. He added that their aim is to honor that soul and present it with the cinematic scale it truly deserves. Tiwari considers it a huge responsibility and a heartfelt honor to bring this story to life, emphasizing that it's not just a film but a vision rooted in reverence and shaped by excellence. According to Tiwari, Ramayana is made to transcend borders and speaks to something deep and eternal within everyone.
