An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa was diverted to Mumbai and made an emergency landing on Wednesday night, July 16, 2025, due to a mid-air engine failure.

The Airbus A320neo operating as flight 6E 6271, was en route to Manohar International Airport in Goa. However, shortly after takeoff, one of its engines reportedly failed, prompting the pilots to request an immediate diversion to the nearest airport. The flight took off from Delhi around 8 p.m., with a delay of approximately thirty minutes. It landed safely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at approximately 9:52 p.m.

Following the emergency landing, IndiGo arranged an alternative aircraft to complete the journey for the passengers. The diverted aircraft will undergo thorough checks and maintenance before being cleared to resume operations. An IndiGo spokesperson stated that the airline followed standard operating procedures during the incident.
