The highly anticipated third season of HBO's "House of the Dragon" is currently filming in the United Kingdom, with a premiere slated for 2026. As the Dance of the Dragons intensifies, Season 3 is set to introduce several new characters to the already expansive world of Westeros.

Production has confirmed that seven new actors will be joining the cast. These additions will bring fresh faces to the forefront as the battle between the Blacks and the Greens reaches a boiling point.

Here's a breakdown of the new cast members and their roles:

  • James Norton as Lord Ormund Hightower: Norton will play Lord Ormund Hightower, Alicent Hightower's cousin and the Lord of Oldtown. He leads the Hightower army in support of his house against Rhaenyra.
  • Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin: Flanagan will portray Ser Roderick Dustin, also known as "Roddy the Ruin," the Lord of Barrowton with a large army of Northern men.
  • Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly: Fogler will play Ser Torrhen Manderly, the son of Lord Desmond Manderly, who will eventually become the Lord of White Harbor.
  • Annie Shapero as Alysanne "Black Aly" Blackwood: Shapero will portray Alysanne Blackwood, a bold warrior loyal to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. She is the aunt of Lord Benjicot Blackwood and eventually marries Lord Cregan Stark. Shapero is expected to appear in five of the eight episodes.
  • Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent: Cullen joins the cast as Ser Luthor Largent.
  • Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort: Sloane will play Ser Adrian Redfort, a member of Queen Rhaenyra's Queensguard.
  • Joplin Sibtain as Ser Jon Roxton: Sibtain has been cast as Ser Jon Roxton.

These new additions join a returning cast of 22 actors, including Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, and Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen.

However, with the arrival of new faces, some familiar ones will be absent. Eve Best, who played Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, will not be returning, along with Simon Russell Beale (Ser Simon Strong), Ella Torchia (Kat), and Tom Taylor (Lord Cregan Stark).

"House of the Dragon" Season 3 will consist of eight episodes and is expected to premiere in 2026. Filming is currently underway in the UK and is expected to continue into the fall of 2025.
