Geeta Basra recently shared details about how her relationship with cricketer Harbhajan Singh began, revealing that Yuvraj Singh played a crucial role in connecting them. According to Basra, Harbhajan Singh saw her poster and felt it was love at first sight. He then asked Yuvraj Singh for her number. Basra hinted at Yuvraj's connections with actors like Deepika Padukone and Kim Sharma while explaining how easily Harbhajan got her number through Yuvraj.

Basra, who entered the film industry at 21 with the 2006 film "Dil Diya Hai" opposite Emraan Hashmi, was initially unaware of cricket and cricketers. She later starred with Hashmi again in the 2007 crime thriller "The Train". Around the same time, Harbhajan Singh saw her poster and was immediately smitten.

Harbhajan Singh messaged Basra after getting her number from Yuvraj, but she didn't respond immediately. After India won the World Cup, she congratulated him, which led to further communication between them. When they finally met, Harbhajan Singh was direct about his intentions, expressing his desire to marry her. At the time, Basra was only 21 and focused on her career.

Basra revealed that she had a condition before agreeing to marry Harbhajan Singh: he had to score 300 wickets in his cricketing career. Despite Harbhajan's immediate feelings, Basra took ten months to say yes to the marriage. She was also concerned about how marriage might affect her career, as it was a different time for women in the film industry. News of her impending wedding resulted in her losing four film opportunities.

The couple eventually married in October 2015. They have two children: a daughter named Hinaya Heer Plaha, born in July 2016, and a son named Jovan Veer Singh Plaha, born in July 2021. In 2021, Harbhajan Singh retired from all forms of cricket.

Recently, Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh have turned their attention to film production, launching their own banner called Purple Rose Entertainment. They have already begun shooting their first project under this banner.
