Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh has publicly apologized to actress Anjali Raghav after a video went viral showing him touching her inappropriately during a promotional event in Lucknow. The incident, which occurred during the promotion of their song "Saiya Seva Kare," led Raghav to announce her departure from the Bhojpuri film industry.

The viral video showed Singh touching Raghav's waist multiple times while on stage, claiming he was removing something stuck to her saree. Raghav appeared visibly uncomfortable but continued addressing the audience. Social media users widely criticized Singh's actions, calling them inappropriate and disrespectful.

Raghav addressed the controversy in an Instagram video, explaining that she initially thought Singh was removing a tag from her new saree or blouse and laughed it off. However, she later confirmed with her team that nothing was there, which made her feel "very bad, angry, and even cried". She also stated that she felt pressured to remain silent at the event because the audience was primarily Singh's fan base.

Raghav further condemned the incident, stating that "I absolutely do not support touching any girl without her permission. It is wrong in the first place. And to touch someone in this way is beyond wrong". She also announced her decision to leave the Bhojpuri industry, stating she would rather continue her artistic journey in the Haryanvi industry, where she feels safer and more respected. "I will not work in the Bhojpuri industry anymore," she said. "As an artist, I do feel like trying new things, but I am happy with my family and my work in Haryana".

Following the backlash and Raghav's decision to leave the industry, Singh issued a public apology on his Instagram story. In a note written in Hindi, Singh stated, "Anjali ji, due to my busy schedule, I couldn't watch your live. When I came to know about the matter, I felt very bad". He added, "Mera aapke prati koi bhi ghalat intention nahi tha kyuki humlog kalakaar hai. Iske bawajood, agar aapko humari kisi bhi vyawahaar se takleef hui ho toh uske liye main shama prarthi hoon (I had no wrong intention towards you as we are fellow artists. However, if my behaviour caused you any discomfort, I sincerely apologise)".

Raghav acknowledged Singh's apology on her Instagram status, stating, "Pawan Singh ji has apologised for his mistake. He is older than me and a senior artist. I have forgiven him. I do not want to take this matter further. Jai Shri Ram".

This is not the first time Singh has faced controversy. He was previously accused by actress Akshara Singh of defamation, inappropriate behavior, and threats. These past allegations have resurfaced in light of the recent incident with Anjali Raghav, leading to further criticism of Singh's behavior. Some social media users have pointed to a pattern of misconduct.
