Vedika Pinto, the Indian model, dancer, and actress, is poised to make a significant mark in Bollywood with her upcoming debut in Anurag Kashyap's Nishaanchi, set to release on September 19, 2025.

Born on October 14, 1995, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Johnny Pinto and Monia Saigal Pinto, Vedika hails from a family with a diverse religious background; her father follows Christianity, while her mother practices Hinduism. She attended Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai and later graduated from the University of London. Vedika also has a brother named Veer Pinto.

Before venturing into the world of acting, Vedika Pinto gained recognition as a model and dancer. Her career took off with her appearance in Ritviz's 2019 music video "Liggi," where she portrayed a bold and fearless bride. The music video became a chartbuster across India, garnering close to 200 million views on YouTube. Her performance in "Liggi" caught the eye of Salman Khan, who shared the video on his Instagram account, praising her energy and swagger. This exposure significantly boosted her visibility.

Vedika made her Bollywood debut in the thriller Operation Romeo in 2022, where she starred alongside Sidhant Gupta and Sharad Kelkar. In 2023, she appeared in Gumraah, a remake of Thadam, opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. Vedika has also been featured in various music videos.

The film is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures, in association with Flip Films.

Kashyap describes Nishaanchi as a story that comes from within him, drawing from his own experiences and upbringing in Kanpur and Lucknow. He differentiates it from his earlier work, Gangs of Wasseypur, stating that Nishaanchi is driven by the joy of language, the joy of people, and the attitude of that place.

Vedika's journey from a viral music video sensation to a lead actress in Bollywood reflects her growing popularity and talent. She is also known to be a childhood friend of Sara Ali Khan.
