In a shocking incident in Gujarat's Surendranagar district, a 65-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Thangadh. The accused, identified as Bahadur Jalu, reportedly bludgeoned his 55-year-old wife, Mansa, to death with a wooden stick. Following the gruesome act, he turned himself in at the Thangadh Police Station, confessing to the crime.

The incident occurred in Songadh village, located in the Thangadh taluka of Surendranagar district. According to police reports, the incident took place at approximately 4:00 AM. Bahadur allegedly attacked Mansa while she was sleeping. He struck her repeatedly on the head with a wooden stick, causing severe injuries and her immediate death.

After the murder, Bahadur Jalu went to the Thangadh police station and confessed to killing his wife. Police took him into custody immediately. The police then contacted the victim's son, Vijay. Vijay filed a formal complaint against his father under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Upon arriving at his parents' room, Vijay discovered his mother lying in a pool of blood on the bed, while his father was missing. Other family members gathered at the scene after he raised the alarm. Mansa was rushed to Thangadh Government Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

During the preliminary investigation, police learned that Bahadur Jalu had been suffering from a mental illness for nearly 30 years and was under medication. It is believed that he became agitated, leading to the fatal assault on his wife. Police are currently investigating the exact trigger for the sudden assault and have sought Bahadur's medical history from his family.

The police have registered a case of murder against Bahadur based on the complaint filed by his son and have taken him into custody. Mansa's body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigations are underway.
