Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini conducted a review of the waterlogging situation in the Naggal region of Ambala district and assured the affected farmers of comprehensive relief measures. During his visit on September 7, 2025, CM Saini personally assessed the extent of the waterlogging and interacted with farmers to understand their concerns and losses.

While en route from Chandigarh to Kaithal, the Chief Minister made a stop near Naggal/Hasanpur to examine the situation and engage with the impacted farmers. He was accompanied by several officials, including former Minister of State, Aseem Goyal Nannyaula, BJP District President, Mandeep Rana, Deputy Commissioner, Ajay Singh Tomar, and Superintendent of Police, Ajit Singh Shekhawat.

Aseem Goyal informed the Chief Minister that the water level had significantly increased due to the inflow of Tangri river water and rainwater into the Naggal Nallah (drain), resulting in waterlogging in approximately 40 villages. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomar reported that around 28,000 acres of land in Ambala City tehsil had been affected by the waterlogging.

To address the recurring issue of waterlogging, Aseem Goyal suggested constructing a siphon in the area. CM Saini responded by directing officials to prepare a detailed action plan for the construction of a siphon and a drain, aiming to provide a sustainable solution to the drainage problem and prevent similar situations in the future.

CM Saini also met with affected farmers, including representatives from the Bharatiya Kisan Union, and inquired about the damage to their crops. He instructed irrigation officials to operate pumps near the Addomajra Dam to expedite the drainage of rainwater. Irrigation Department's Superintendent Engineer explained that the land's gradient was naturally aiding rainwater drainage, and additional motors were being installed to accelerate the process. He added that the water from the Naggal drain will be released by operating pumps as soon as the water level of the Tangri river decreases.

Furthermore, CM Saini visited Segti village near Jansui Head to assess the waterlogging situation and interact with affected farmers and villagers. He emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the farmers and highlighted the e-Kshati portal, where farmers can register their crop losses online to receive compensation as per the established norms.

CM Saini stated that 1.69 lakh farmers had registered on the e-Kshatipurti portal for crop damage claims across 9.96 lakh acres in the state. The portal was kept open to allow farmers to register claims for crop damage caused by waterlogging and recent floods.

CM Saini has issued special instructions to all Deputy Commissioners, along with officers from the revenue and irrigation departments, to closely monitor waterlogging during the rainy season and take immediate steps for drainage where required.

The Chief Minister also flagged off 25 truckloads of relief material for Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. He appealed to everyone to face the natural disaster together.
