A Singapore-bound Air India flight, AI2380, experienced a significant delay at Delhi Airport on Wednesday evening, leaving over 200 passengers frustrated and uncomfortable. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, scheduled to depart around 11 PM, was held on the ground for nearly two hours due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system and faulty electrical supply.
Passengers were eventually deplaned and taken back to the terminal building. According to a PTI journalist on board, the crew did not provide a specific reason for the deplaning. Air India has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
Social media was abuzz with videos showing passengers using newspapers and magazines to fan themselves in the stifling heat. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
This is not the first time Air India has faced such issues. In June 2025, an Air India flight from San Francisco to Mumbai experienced a technical snag in one of its engines during a layover in Kolkata. The 211 passengers on board were deplaned while the airline's engineers inspected the aircraft. Similarly, another Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed seconds after takeoff.
