The buzz around Cocktail 2 is intensifying, with recent social media activity fueling speculation about Kriti Sanon's look in the upcoming film. Directed by Homi Adajania, the sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail is already generating considerable excitement.

Earlier this month, Homi Adajania’s wife, Anaita Shroff Adajania, a celebrity stylist, shared a sneak peek of the film's script on Instagram, hinting that shooting had already begun. The post included the hashtag #workinprogress, further exciting fans.

Adding to the anticipation, Adajania posted a monochrome picture of Kriti Sanon on Instagram. While he cleverly placed a "Work in Progress" sticker over her face, the post was captioned "@kritisanon #Thescicilianchapter #Cocktail2,". This immediately sparked speculation that Sanon's look was being teased, and that the sequel might have an international setting. Sanon herself reposted Adajania's story, adding, "This is gonna be a liberating journey… I can feel it,".

Cocktail 2 will also star Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Kapoor recently shared a selfie on his Instagram Story with the caption "New Beginnings!!! Cocktail 2,".

The film is expected to blend romance, comedy, and drama against the backdrop of stunning locations in India and Europe. Sources indicate that the team plans to wrap up shooting by January 2026, with a theatrical release expected in the latter half of 2026.

Kriti Sanon's casting in Cocktail 2 has been seen as a significant move, with many viewing her as a replacement for Deepika Padukone from the original film. Sanon's recent performances have solidified her position as a versatile and bankable actress, making her a sought-after name for top-tier projects.

On the work front, Kriti Sanon is also involved in other projects, including Tere Ishk Mein with Dhanush, directed by Aanand L Rai. Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Deva and will be seen in Arjun Ustara, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, opposite Triptii Dimri. Rashmika Mandanna recently finished Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana before joining Cocktail 2.
