A major fire erupted at a factory in Gujarat's Bharuch district on Saturday, September 13, 2025, sparking widespread concern and prompting a large-scale emergency response. The blaze broke out at Sanghvi Organics Pvt Ltd, situated in the GIDC Panoli industrial area.
Thick plumes of smoke and flames billowed into the sky, becoming visible from several kilometers away. The visuals from the scene depict a significant fire, with smoke engulfing the surrounding area. The intensity of the fire triggered panic among local residents and in the industrial area.
In response to the emergency, more than 15 fire tenders were immediately deployed to the site. Firefighting operations are currently underway, with efforts focused on bringing the blaze under control and preventing it from spreading to nearby industrial units.
As of now, initial reports from local authorities indicate that there have been no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated. Details regarding the extent of the damage are also yet to be ascertained.
This incident follows another recent fire in Gujarat, which occurred on April 2 in Deesa, Banaskantha district. That fire was caused by a massive explosion at an illegal firecracker factory operating out of a warehouse, resulting in at least 21 fatalities, many of whom were migrant workers from Madhya Pradesh. Witnesses described a deafening blast that shook nearby homes and sent dust and smoke billowing into the sky. Sections of the warehouse collapsed, trapping workers under rubble. Police confirmed that the unit was operating without a valid license and in violation of safety norms. The factory's owner and his son were arrested after the tragedy.
