As Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrates his 75th birthday today, wishes are pouring in from across the globe, and celebrations are underway throughout India. Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi has served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three consecutive terms and is currently serving his third term as Prime Minister since 2014.
To commemorate the occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is launching the "Sewa Pakhwada," a fortnight of events dedicated to public service and welfare, reflecting Modi's commitment to the nation.
The Prime Minister's itinerary includes a visit to Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where he will launch the "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar" campaign, promote Swadeshi products, and address a public gathering. The "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar" initiative aims to empower women through health and wellness programs. Additionally, he is expected to inaugurate the eighth National Nutrition Month during his visit.
Across the country, BJP-led state governments are organizing a series of events and schemes to mark the Prime Minister's birthday. In Delhi, the government will launch 75 development projects and welfare initiatives during the "Sewa Pakhwada". The Delhi Fire Service will deploy 24 Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs) in areas prone to traffic congestion and fire incidents. Furthermore, a multitude of medical and social welfare activities, including blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and exhibitions on PM Modi's achievements, are planned in the national capital.
The BJP's Bihar unit has launched the "Chalo Jeete Hain" rath campaign to raise awareness about the achievements of the NDA government, with 243 specially decorated raths representing each assembly constituency.
Celebrations have already commenced in various parts of the country. In Ahmedabad, a map of India was created with flowers, and a traditional Garba dance was performed. In Varanasi, a 73-kg Ladoo was cut to mark the Prime Minister's birthday.
Prime Minister Modi has often used his birthday as an opportunity to launch welfare schemes and participate in public service initiatives. In 2022, eight cheetahs were released into Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park as part of the Cheetah Re-introduction project. In 2021, which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, a record 2.26 crore vaccines were administered in a single day to mark his birthday.
