Director Homi Adajania is generating considerable buzz for "Cocktail 2," the sequel to the 2012 hit film "Cocktail". Adajania has been sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the cast, including Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna, on his Instagram, further fueling the anticipation.

Recently, Adajania teased fans with a monochrome portrait of Kriti Sanon on his Instagram Stories. In the photo, Sanon's face is partially obscured by a "Work In Progress" sticker. Adajania captioned the post "@kritisanon #Thescicilianchapter #Cocktail2". Sanon responded by re-sharing the story, adding, "This is gonna be a liberating journey…I can feel it..".

Shahid Kapoor also shared a selfie on Instagram, writing, "New Beginnings!!! Cocktail 2," and tagged Rashmika and Kriti. This post confirmed that he has joined his co-stars for the shoot. In the photo, Kapoor sports a minimal beard and a smart hairstyle.

"Cocktail 2" is currently filming in Italy. Photos from the set show Shahid Kapoor in a red shirt and shorts, while Kriti Sanon is sporting a yellow top and tasselled skirt. A clip of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon spotted filming in Italy has also surfaced on social media.

The original "Cocktail" (2012), starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, was lauded for its modern romantic themes, music, and style. "Cocktail 2" is expected to capture the magic of the original film while offering a fresh take on love triangles. The film is expected to be a blend of glamour, fashion, drama, and romance.

"Cocktail 2" is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan. Homi Adajania's wife, Anaita Shroff Adajania, also shared a glimpse of the "Cocktail 2" script and Kriti's look on her Instagram Story. The makers are aiming for a theatrical release in the latter half of 2026. Plot details are still under wraps.
