Following the finale of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" season 3, Prime Video has officially announced that the series will conclude with a feature film. The news arrived shortly after the series finale aired on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Currently, there is no confirmed release date for "The Summer I Turned Pretty" movie. Given that the film was only recently greenlit, it may take some time for Jenny Han to complete the script and coordinate with the cast. While waiting a full two years like the gap between seasons 2 and 3 is not expected, fans will have to remain patient.

Jenny Han, the author of the original book trilogy and the creator of the TV series, is set to write and direct the movie, along with Sarah Kucserka. Han stated that she felt "only a movie could give [the conclusion] its proper due". She also expressed her gratitude to Prime Video for their continued support of her vision.

While official plot details are under wraps, the film is expected to pick up where the season 3 finale left off and delve into the characters' futures, moving beyond their young adulthood. The movie aims to provide a true conclusion to the live-action adaptation of the narrative. It's speculated that the film will center around Belly and Conrad's reunion, Steven and Taylor's deepening relationship, and potentially Jeremiah and Denise's budding romance.

"The Summer I Turned Pretty" has become a global phenomenon since its premiere in 2022. Season 3 had 11 episodes and was streamed by 25 million viewers worldwide in its first week, becoming Prime Video's fifth most-watched returning season. The series has also boosted the careers of its stars, including Lola Tung, Jackie Chung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, and Rain Spencer.

The final episode of season 3, "At Last," was released on September 17, 2025, concluding the series' run. New episodes of the season were released weekly, every Wednesday, with the first two episodes premiering on July 16.
