In a lighthearted turn of events, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan responded with wit to a gaffe made by former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. During a discussion about the India-Pakistan Asia Cup final on the show 'Game On Hai', Akhtar mistakenly referred to Abhishek Bachchan instead of the Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma while analyzing match strategies.
The former Pakistani pacer was discussing how Pakistan could win the final against India. Akhtar said, "If Pakistan manage to get Abhishek Bachchan out in a hypothetical situation, what happens to India's middle order? The middle order has not performed well". The panel and host quickly corrected Akhtar, clarifying that he meant to say Abhishek Sharma, the young Indian opener. Abhishek Sharma has been in great form, being the tournament’s top scorer with 248 runs from five matches.
Abhishek Bachchan, known for his humor on social media, responded to the clip on X (formerly Twitter). Quoting the video, he wrote, "Sir, with all due respect… don't think they'll even manage that! And I'm not even good at playing cricket".
Bachchan's reaction quickly went viral, with many appreciating his humorous take on the situation. Fans found the actor's playful jab amusing. Bachchan is known to be a passionate supporter of sports and owns teams in various leagues.
The India-Pakistan Asia Cup final is scheduled for September 28. Ahead of the match, Pakistan's head coach, Mike Hesson, has asked his team to focus on cricket despite controversies surrounding the match.
