Sonakshi Sinha is generating buzz with her energetic dance performance in "Dhana Pisaachi," the first song from the upcoming film Jatadhara. The song, released on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, offers a glimpse into Sinha's never-before-seen fierce avatar.
Jatadhara, presented by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, stars Sudheer Babu alongside Sonakshi Sinha, marking her Telugu debut. The film is slated to release in theaters on November 7, 2025, in both Hindi and Telugu. Alongside Sinha and Babu, the film features Divya Khossla, Shilpa Shirodkar, Indira Krishna, and Ravi Prakash.
"Dhana Pisaachi" is described as a high-energy number that introduces Sinha in a bold and powerful role. Her intense expressions, commanding body language, and killer dance moves are said to give viewers goosebumps. The song has been shot on a massive scale, adding to its impact and creating an anthem-like feel of raw energy and rebellion. In the lyrical video, Sinha is seen in the look of the demonic goddess Dhanapisachini, and at one point, she kills a person with a sword and drinks blood.
Samira Koppikar composed the track, with vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi. Koppikar described the song as an expression of "Divine Feminine energy," akin to a Tandav song for "Dhana Pisaachi". She further elaborated on the challenges and fulfillment of capturing the spirit of a "Divine Diva" musically, pushing her boundaries to bring forth the power, edginess, wrath, and electric energy of the Goddess. According to Koppikar, everyone involved felt she "nailed the brief & captured the essence of their 'Vision'".
Prior to the release of "Dhana Pisaachi," the makers of Jatadhara unveiled another track titled "Soul of Jatadhara," composed by Rajeev Raj. This song opens with "Om Namah Shivaya" chants and aims to transport audiences into the mystical world of the film, balancing raw energy with spiritual depth.
Jatadhara is directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal. The film is a supernatural thriller that delves into themes of devotion, greed, and the mysteries within sacred spaces. There has been speculation that the film is inspired by real-life events related to the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, known for its hidden vaults and immense treasure. The film is said to explore the temple's centuries-old intrigue, blending it with a mythological narrative of good versus evil. The teaser showcases Sinha sitting on a mound of gold, covered in jewelry, portraying the antagonist driven by greed.
The release of "Dhana Pisaachi" has amplified the anticipation for Jatadhara, with many praising Sinha's fierce avatar and the song's captivating energy.
