Dawn Pictures, the production house behind the newly released Dhanush directorial Idli Kadai, has issued a stern warning against piracy, threatening legal action against those who leak, share, or distribute pirated copies of the film. The movie, which released in theaters worldwide on October 1, 2025, stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Shalini Pandey, and R. Parthiban. Idli Kadai also released in Telugu as Idli Kottu.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the morning of the film's release, Dawn Pictures declared that any leaked or pirated content of Idli Kadai would be removed instantly without warning. The production house also stated that strict legal action would be taken against those promoting or distributing pirated copies.
Dawn Pictures has provided direct links for reporting piracy on various platforms, including the web, WhatsApp, Telegram, and X. They have appealed to the public to protect cinema and report any pirated content or spoilers immediately, emphasizing that public support is the industry's strongest defense.
Idli Kadai tells the story of Murugan (Dhanush), a heartbroken man who retreats to his father's (Rajkiran) idli shop after his dream of marrying his love (Shalini Pandey) is shattered by his future brother-in-law (Arun Vijay). There, he rediscovers his roots and finds solace in the quiet devotion of Kayal (Nithya Menen), learning the true meaning of love until the past returns to challenge his newfound peace.
The film has received mixed reviews, with critics praising the performances of the cast, particularly Dhanush, Rajkiran, and Nithya Menen, but noting that the storyline is predictable.
The music for Idli Kadai is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, and features songs by Dhanush, Arivu, Anthony Daasan, Raju Murugan, Falcon, and A.R. Ameen.
