Bihar BJP Finalises Seat-Sharing, Candidate List Announcement Expected Soon: Party Chief Confirms Readiness.

Patna, Bihar – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce its list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections soon, according to Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal. Jaiswal stated on Friday, October 10, 2025, that the seat-sharing arrangement among the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) coalition partners has been finalized. The announcement of candidates is expected over the weekend, specifically Saturday and Sunday.

"The seat-sharing issue has been resolved," Jaiswal told news agency ANI. He added that the central leadership will select candidates through the Central Election Committee and the Central Parliamentary Board in Delhi.

The Bihar Assembly elections for all 243 seats are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, 2025, with the counting of votes to be held on November 14.

The BJP held a three-day election committee meeting in Delhi to discuss seat sharing, and a panel was formed for the purpose. Senior BJP leaders and NDA allies have been engaged in a series of meetings to iron out the details of the seat-sharing arrangement. These meetings included discussions between BJP’s election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, and state president Dilip Jaiswal with Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, and a meeting between senior BJP leader Nityanand Rai and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan in Delhi.

With the BJP not securing a majority in the recent Lok Sabha elections, allies like Nitish Kumar's JD(U) hold significant power, making seat-sharing talks challenging. The BJP is aiming to balance the interests of its allies with its own.

Meanwhile, the opposition Mahagathbandhan is also in the process of finalizing its seat-sharing arrangement. The Congress Party held a meeting of its Central Election Committee in New Delhi to discuss its list of candidates. RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav chaired the sixth meeting of the Grand Alliance's Election Coordination Committee.

The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections and has deployed approximately 8.5 lakh election officials to oversee the process. The commission has also conducted a comprehensive online training and assessment program for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).

So far, only the Jan Suraaj Party, led by former political strategist Prashant Kishor, has released a list of candidates. The Jan Suraaj Party has released its first list of 51 candidates.

As the election draws closer, all eyes are on the BJP's candidate list, which is expected to reflect a mix of experienced leaders, grassroots workers, and fresh faces.
