This initiative aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.

The Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the event via live stream, with participation from Deepak Bagla, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Government of India, and other dignitaries.

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 offered a platform for students from classes 6 to 12 to ideate and build solutions to real-world challenges. Participants worked in teams of 5 to 7, submitting their ideas and prototypes in video format. A panel of experts appointed by the Ministry of Education will evaluate the submissions between November 1 and December 31, 2025.

A total prize pool of Rs 1 crore will be awarded to the winners. The Buildathon will recognize talent at multiple levels, with 10 national-level winners, 100 state-level winners, and 1000 district-level winners. Top performing schools will also receive long-term support through corporate adoption, mentorship programs, and resource allocation to further cultivate innovation.

The Buildathon's objectives included inspiring creative thinking for national development, promoting self-reliance and sustainable growth, engaging schools in synchronized innovation, projecting India as a global innovation hub, and celebrating young problem-solvers.

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is expected to have significant outcomes, including engaging students in the world's largest live innovation activity and developing grassroots prototypes aligned with national priorities.
