Chirag Paswan Asserts Minor Nomination Error for Seema Singh, Confident of Swift Resolution and Valid Candidacy.

The nomination of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP(RV)] candidate Seema Singh from Marhaura has been rejected ahead of the Bihar elections, delivering a significant blow to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The returning officer invalidated Singh's nomination due to "deficiencies and technical errors" found during the scrutiny process.

Chirag Paswan, leader of the LJP(RV), addressed the situation by stating that it was a "minor error" that would be resolved. However, the specifics of the error and the means of resolution were not detailed.

Seema Singh, a well-known Bhojpuri actress, was considered a strong candidate for the NDA, with the potential to draw significant crowds and support due to her regional fame. Her nomination included details about her educational qualifications, stating she had passed the ninth grade, which had garnered attention. The rejection of her nomination has altered the political landscape of the Marhaura Assembly seat.

In addition to Seema Singh, the nominations of three other candidates were also rejected: Altaf Alam Raju (an independent candidate and former JDU district president), Aditya Kumar (from the Bahujan Samaj Party), and Vishal Kumar (an independent candidate). The Election Office has clarified that these rejections resulted from strict adherence to the scrutiny process, ensuring no negligence or bias was involved.

The main contest for the Marhaura seat is now expected to be between Jitendra Rai of the RJD and Abhay Singh of Jan Suraaj.

The Bihar elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results expected on November 14. In the NDA's seat-sharing arrangement, the BJP and Janata Dal (United) are contesting 101 seats each, while the LJP (RV) is contesting 29 seats.
