OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT Go is now free for all users in India for one year, starting November 4, 2025. This promotional offer coincides with OpenAI's first DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru. Existing ChatGPT Go subscribers in India will automatically be switched to the free one-year plan. OpenAI has advised current subscribers on web or Android (via the Google Play store) not to cancel their subscriptions, as the promotion may be automatically applied to their accounts later this week.

How to Access the Free ChatGPT Go Subscription

The free ChatGPT Go subscription is available to new users, existing free-tier users, and current ChatGPT Go subscribers with accounts in good standing. To access the offer:

• New Users: Sign up for ChatGPT or log in to your existing free account.
• Via Web: Click "Try ChatGPT Go" or navigate to Settings → Account → Try ChatGPT Go.
