Recent buzz surrounds Salman Khan and his punctuality on set, sparked by comments from Chitrangda Singh, his co-star in the upcoming film "Battle of Galwan". Singh, who is also starring in Netflix's "Raat Akeli Hai 2: The Bansal Murders," addressed rumors about Khan's alleged late arrivals, offering a contrasting perspective based on her experience.
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, when asked about the rumors of Salman Khan being late on sets, Chitrangda lauded the superstar for his dedication to his work. She emphasized his commitment to improving scenes and his overall devotion to the project. Rather than confirming the rumors, she painted a picture of a focused and hardworking actor.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Singh's name has been associated with "Raat Akeli Hai." She was initially considered for a special song in the first film but didn't take part. Now, she plays a pivotal role in the sequel, "Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders," which is slated to release on December 19 on Netflix. Singh believes she was destined to be a part of the franchise.
"Raat Akeli Hai 2" sees Nawazuddin Siddiqui reprise his role as Inspector Jatil Yadav, who is now tasked with solving the murders of the Bansal family. The film promises a more sinister and complex case than the first, drawing Jatil into a web of black magic, cults, and conflicting accounts from the survivors, one of whom is played by Singh. Honey Trehan returns as director, with Smita Singh Khan penning the script. The film is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin shooting next month, with a late 2025 premiere in mind.
Singh and Siddiqui's collaboration is particularly noteworthy, as they were initially set to work together in the 2017 film "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz," but Singh left the project due to discomfort with intimate scenes. It seems the two have resolved any past differences and are eager to collaborate on this new murder mystery.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is turning 60 today, December 27th, and is expected to share an update on "Battle of Galwan," a patriotic drama directed by Apoorva Lakhia, in which Singh also stars. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
