Patna, November 10, 2025 – Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of concealing crucial data from the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections. In a press conference held in Patna on Monday, Yadav, who is also the Mahagathbandhan's Chief Ministerial face, alleged a lack of transparency and fairness in the electoral process, citing the ECI's failure to release constituency-wise and gender-wise voter turnout figures.
"The EC has not disclosed the gender-wise data of electors who cast their votes on November 6 even after four days have passed from the first phase of assembly polls. This is happening for the first time. Earlier, it was given immediately," Yadav told reporters. He questioned the 이유 behind withholding the data, demanding an explanation from the Election Commission.
Yadav further claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi avoided addressing key issues such as unemployment and migration during his campaign rallies in Bihar, instead engaging in "negative politics". He asserted that the people of Bihar would not allow "outsiders to control the state".
Responding to Yadav's allegations, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal dismissed them, stating that Yadav and Rahul Gandhi were "losing sleep" over the historic voter turnout in the first phase. Jaiswal further accused Yadav of being "anti-reservation, anti-backward classes". He said that nobody takes Rahul and Tejashwi seriously.
Jaiswal attributed the high voter turnout to the public's support for the BJP and its policies. He also attacked Rahul Gandhi's allegations of a nexus between the central government and the ECI, claiming that Rahul and Tejashwi dislike that "infiltrators" were being asked for birth certificates.
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections took place on November 6, 2025, covering a number of constituencies across the state. The election is seen as a crucial battleground between the ruling NDA alliance and the Mahagathbandhan, with both sides vying for a majority in the assembly.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan expressed his unwavering support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, dismissing the idea of a post-poll alliance and stating he's "not going anywhere".
RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari criticized the BJP and NDA for their arrogance and broken promises, comparing their past claims with current realities. He also accused Union Minister Amit Shah of showing arrogance of power for his recent remarks over “No CM vacancy in Bihar”.
The accusations and counter-accusations highlight the intense political atmosphere surrounding the Bihar Assembly Elections. With the remaining phases of the election still to come, the focus remains on transparency, accountability, and the crucial issues affecting the people of Bihar.
