Mika Singh Cancels Delhi Performance Following Car Explosion Near Red Fort: Security Concerns Arise.

In the wake of the tragic car blast near Delhi's Red Fort metro station on November 10, 2025, singer Mika Singh has announced the cancellation of his scheduled performance at Soho Club in Delhi. The explosion resulted in at least 8 fatalities and left numerous individuals injured.

The blast, which occurred around 6:52 PM on Monday, involved a slow-moving Hyundai i20 that exploded near one of the Red Fort metro station gates. The incident triggered a fire that damaged several vehicles parked nearby. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion, with initial probes being conducted under anti-terrorism laws.

Mika Singh confirmed the cancellation on his Instagram story, expressing sympathy for the victims of the blast with a folded hand and a bandaged heart emoji. News of the cancellation spread rapidly across social media platforms.

The impact of the blast was substantial, with a police post 100 meters away being destroyed and car fragments found as far as 200 meters from the site. Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Home Minister Amit Shah to assess the situation. Shah visited the blast site and met with injured individuals at LNJP Hospital, assuring a thorough investigation. The government has handed over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Forensic teams are working to identify the explosives used. Preliminary findings suggest the possible use of ammonium nitrate, fuel oil, and detonators.

A doctor from Pulwama, identified as Dr. Umar, is suspected to have been the occupant of the car. CCTV footage captured the car entering a parking lot near the Red Fort at 3:19 PM and leaving at 6:48 PM, minutes before the explosion.

In addition to Mika Singh's concert cancellation, the trailer launch of Ranveer Singh's film Dhurandhar, originally scheduled for November 12 in Mumbai, has also been postponed as a sign of respect for the victims. The team behind Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has also delayed their Delhi shoot due to the heightened security concerns and air pollution.

Security measures have been elevated across Delhi, with New Delhi's international airport, metro stations, and government buildings placed on high alert. Several other states have also been put on high alert following the blast. The Red Fort has been closed to visitors for three days, and the Lal Qila Metro station on the violet line has been shut down for security reasons.
