Delhi Car Blast: Missing Brezza Found at Al-Falah; Man Who Sold 300kg Fertiliser Held

Faridabad, Haryana – In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the Delhi Red Fort car blast, a Maruti Brezza, believed to be the third vehicle linked to the terror module, has been located at Al-Falah University in Dhauj, Faridabad. The discovery was made on Thursday, November 13, 2025, as Jammu and Kashmir Police inspected the campus. The vehicle is registered to Dr. Shaheen Shahid, who has already been apprehended in connection with the case.

The blast, which occurred on Monday evening near the Red Fort, resulted in 13 fatalities and left several others injured. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe, treating the incident as a terror attack.

Earlier in the investigation, authorities had seized a red Ford EcoSport in Faridabad's Khandawali village, further linking it to the terror module. A person who allegedly parked the EcoSport was also taken into custody and handed over to Delhi Police. With the recovery of the Brezza, police believe that the suspects procured the three cars to carry vehicle-borne IEDs.

In a related development, a fertiliser and seed seller from Pinangwa, in the Nuh district of Haryana, has been detained by the Delhi Police's Special Cell. It is alleged that Dr. Umar Nabi, the prime suspect in the blast, purchased over 300kg of NPK fertiliser worth ₹3 lakh from his shop. While the investigating agency and Haryana Police have yet to confirm the arrest, local residents have confirmed that the shopkeeper was taken for questioning.

Meanwhile, the Al Falah University's membership has been suspended by an education body. The university has stated that it only had a professional association with the arrested doctors. Haryana police have also recovered two vehicles owned by Umar Nabi.

CCTV footage has placed Dr. Umar Nabi at the scene. DNA evidence found in the exploded i20 car also matched with Dr. Umar Nabi's mother, further solidifying his connection to the crime.

The investigation has revealed a larger terror conspiracy, with suspects allegedly planning to prepare around 32 old vehicles with explosives for coordinated attacks across multiple locations. The accused had already begun modifying an i20 and an EcoSport for potential use in these attacks.

The United States has condemned the blast as a terrorist attack. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised India's handling of the probe.
