Amid a recent internal debate sparked by Digvijaya Singh's comments regarding the organizational strength of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has publicly lauded the Congress party and its leaders, particularly Sonia Gandhi, emphasizing "service, commitment, ethics" as cornerstones of their leadership.

Reddy's remarks are seen as a counterpoint to Singh's post, which has stirred discussion within Congress. Singh's comments, where he praised the RSS's organizational capabilities, have been interpreted by some as a critique of the Congress party's structure and strategy. Some believe Singh was subtly targeting certain party leaders, expressing concerns about the party's direction.

In response, Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed his faith in the Congress's principles and leadership. He specifically highlighted Sonia Gandhi's contributions, pointing to her role in selecting P.V. Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh as Prime Ministers. These decisions, according to Reddy, demonstrate her commitment to the nation and the party's values.

Reddy has a long history with the Congress party. He was appointed president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in July 2021 and successfully led the party in the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly election, defeating the Bharat Rashtra Samithi. He assumed the role of Chief Minister of Telangana on December 7, 2023.

Revanth Reddy commemorated the Indian National Congress’s 141st foundation day by extending his warm wishes to all party members. In a message, Reddy lauded the Congress, calling it "a history written with the sweat of its workers". He highlighted the party's pivotal role in India's struggle for independence and its subsequent democratic journey. The Chief Minister characterized the Congress as the "representative of 140 crore Indians" and "the wealth that fed the hunger of the poor".

The Telangana Chief Minister recently recalled the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme's deep association with Telugu people and Telangana and pitched for a sustained political fight against the BJP-led Union government over the 'dilution' of the scheme. Participating in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in New Delhi, Mr. Reddy said the rural employment programme had a special place in the hearts of people of erstwhile combined Andhra Pradesh, as it was launched in the combined State by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

While Reddy has publicly shown support for Sonia Gandhi, his absence from the Congress party Formation Day celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad has triggered speculation within party circles. Despite returning from New Delhi on Saturday night, the CM did not attend the event where TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the party flag.
