Investigations into the Delhi blast that occurred near the Red Fort earlier this week have revealed that the driver of the Hyundai i20 involved allegedly received Rs 20 lakh through illicit financial channels. The terror attack, which claimed 13 lives, is being intensely investigated by authorities.

Sources indicate that the funding was channeled illegally, suggesting a deliberate attempt to conceal the origin and purpose of the money. The use of illegal financial channels raises concerns about the involvement of a larger network facilitating terror activities.

Dr. Mohammad Umar, a physician from Pulwama, is believed to have been driving the white Hyundai i20. The explosion resulted in the death of all three occupants of the vehicle. Previously a student at Srinagar's Government Medical College, Umar's shift to radicalism has surprised many. Umar's family members, including his two brothers and mother, have been detained for questioning.

The investigation has uncovered a broader terror module with links to other individuals. Dr. Muzammil, also from Koil village, has been arrested for alleged involvement in the same network. Both individuals are said to have been in contact with Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, who was arrested in October for distributing posters supporting Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). An AK-47 rifle was found in Dr. Adil’s locker.

A joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police led to the discovery of a weapons and explosives cache in Faridabad, including 290 kg of ammonium nitrate, timer devices, assault rifles, and live ammunition.

CCTV footage has emerged showing the Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 at a pollution-check center in Faridabad just days before the blast. The footage captured three individuals inside the car while a pollution certificate was being issued. One of the men in the car was identified as Tariq, in whose name Dr. Mohammad Umar Nabi purchased the vehicle.

The car is registered under the name of Mohammad Salman at the Gurugram RTO. Delhi Police have detained Salman, who claims he sold the vehicle approximately 18 months ago. Farah, Salman's wife, had her mobile phone seized for forensic examination.

Authorities are investigating the vehicle's chain of ownership as part of the probe into the Delhi blast case. The former owner of the Hyundai i20 explained that he bought the car off the platform Spinny and sold it to an individual named Sonu.
