Marking seven years since the release of the first season of "Mirzapur," actress Shweta Tripathi Sharma, known for her portrayal of Golu Gupta, shared nostalgic behind-the-scenes (BTS) photos on social media. The series, which debuted on November 16, 2018, quickly gained popularity for its intense storyline, dark themes, and bold depiction of power struggles in the fictional town of Mirzapur.

Tripathi expressed her sentiments about the show and her character, Golu, stating that going back to Varanasi and becoming Golu again felt amazing. She mentioned that realizing she would meet Golu again after the look test was a wonderful feeling, as the character has been a part of her for nine years.

"Mirzapur" revolves around the conflict between Akhandanand Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya) and the Pandit family, particularly lawyer Ramakant Pandit's sons, Guddu and Bablu. A violent incident triggers a chain of events, drawing both families into a battle for power. Shweta Tripathi's character, Golu Gupta, undergoes a transformation throughout the series, initially appearing as a timid girl who eventually gets involved in the world of crime, murder, and violence. She feels a sense of destiny returning to the city, which holds a powerful energy and reminds her of where she began. She also revealed that her maternal grandfather studied in Varanasi, and she grew up hearing stories about the city.

The actress feels a divine connection to Varanasi, with every corner and prayer bringing her calmness. She describes "Mirzapur" as home and expresses excitement about bringing the story to the big screen, emphasizing the team's desire for the film to succeed for each other.
