Mumbai, November 18, 2025 – The family of veteran actor Sanjay Khan is mourning the loss of his wife, Zarine Khan (also known as Zarine Katrak), who passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 81. Zarine, the mother of Sussanne Khan, Zayed Khan, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora, died of a sudden cardiac arrest at her residence in Mumbai.

In a recent statement, Simone Arora, paid tribute to her mother, remembering her as a "true patriot" and highlighting her unwavering values. The family has been receiving condolences from Bollywood personalities and friends since the news of her death broke.

Zarine Khan, born Zarine Katrak, was a multifaceted personality who had a brief stint in Bollywood before dedicating herself to her family and later establishing herself in the field of interior design. She appeared in films like Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963). She married Sanjay Khan in 1966 and embraced the role of a supportive wife and mother.

Simone Arora, who is the wife of D'Decor owner Ajay Arora, is less known compared to her siblings, Sussanne Khan, a well-known interior designer, Farah Khan Ali, a jewelry designer, and Zayed Khan, an actor. Simone, an art director, also runs her own luxury store named SIMONE in Mumbai.

The funeral was held according to Hindu customs, honoring Zarine's wishes as she was born into a Parsi family and did not convert to Islam after marrying Sanjay Khan. This decision was supported by her daughter, Farah Khan Ali, who stated that her mother valued humanity above religious labels. Farah highlighted her mother's philosophy of life: "Forgive and Forget". She described her mother as a kind-hearted and loving person who was the bond that kept their family together.

Several family members and friends from the film industry attended the last rites to offer their condolences. A visibly emotional Zayed Khan was seen performing the final rituals. Sussanne Khan also appeared heartbroken during the ceremony.

Zarine Khan's marriage to Sanjay Khan was a significant aspect of her life, withstanding challenges and remaining strong over the years. Farah Khan Ali noted that her mother single-handedly saved her marriage when Sanjay Khan had an affair with Zeenat Aman.
