Planning a trip abroad just got a whole lot easier with the introduction of same-day forex delivery and a pay-on-delivery option, even on weekends. BookMyForex, a MakeMyTrip Group entity, has launched these new features to simplify and expedite the process of buying foreign exchange for travellers.
These new capabilities address common pain points for travellers, especially those planning trips close to their departure dates. Previously, obtaining forex could be a hassle, with weekday-only cycles and the need for advance payments creating obstacles. Now, travellers can enjoy seven-day access to forex cards and currency notes, including weekends.
The pay-on-delivery (POD) option provides further convenience, allowing customers to pay for their currency notes at their doorstep via UPI or other select payment modes. Cash-on-delivery is also available for amounts up to ₹50,000 per traveller. This eliminates the need to pay in advance, offering greater flexibility and confidence.
According to Gagan Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer of BookMyForex, the goal is to simplify and speed up the forex purchase process. With seven-day delivery and POD, customers gain reliable access beyond weekday banking hours and the option to pay at their doorstep, making the last-mile experience seamless.
To be eligible for same-day delivery, customers need to complete their payment and documentation before 1 PM. The service is currently available in major Indian cities, with plans for expansion in the coming months.
Forex cards can be used anywhere that accepts Visa or Mastercard, including stores, restaurants, hotels, ATMs, and e-commerce websites. They can also be used to withdraw cash from ATMs in the local currency of the destination country.
To celebrate the launch of these new services, BookMyForex has also announced its seasonal BIGFOREXSALE, offering customers the chance to earn up to 2% cashback (capped at ₹7,500) on forex card and currency note orders.
Other companies like Thomas Cook and Hays Travel also offer options to buy forex online with home delivery. Thomas Cook provides zero loading fees and guaranteed fresh notes. Hays Travel allows you to click and collect your currency or have it delivered to your home.
