Congress is downplaying Representative Ilhan Omar's recent dismissal of "vote theft" allegations, emphasizing that her views do not necessarily reflect the stance of the entire party or the INDIA bloc. This comes after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, whose National Conference is part of the INDIA bloc, stated that the "vote chori" issue is primarily a concern of the Congress party and not the bloc as a whole. He emphasized that each party within the alliance is free to set its own agenda.

Abdullah's remarks have highlighted differences within the opposition alliance regarding political messaging and priorities. The Congress party has been escalating its attacks, with leaders like Rahul Gandhi accusing the BJP of stealing elections and conspiring to weaken democratic institutions. Gandhi has claimed that election irregularities are central to the BJP's political strategy.

However, Abdullah has distanced himself and his party from these claims, asserting that the "vote theft" issue does not represent the position of the INDIA bloc. He noted that the Congress has collected approximately six crore signatures against alleged "vote theft" and intends to present them to the President of India.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh has criticized Rahul Gandhi's focus on "vote theft," suggesting that Gandhi is using these allegations to mask his electoral defeats. Singh pointed out that Congress leaders often refrain from raising such allegations when the party wins elections, implying a selective approach to electoral grievances.

The debate over "vote theft" also surfaces amid broader discussions on electoral reforms. During a Lok Sabha debate, Rahul Gandhi labeled "vote chori" as an "anti-national act," accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP. He demanded access to EVM architecture and criticized the destruction of CCTV footage. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju countered that Rahul Gandhi did not offer concrete suggestions.

Meanwhile, Representative Ilhan Omar has faced scrutiny and allegations of voter fraud in the past. Claims have been made regarding absentee ballots and organized efforts to influence election outcomes. Some have alleged that these efforts were aimed at securing Omar's position in Congress. These allegations have sparked debates about the integrity of the electoral process and whether certain communities are unfairly targeted.
