Compher's Three-Point Performance Propels Sceptres to a Thrilling 4-3 Win Against the Sirens.

On December 21, 2025, Jesse Compher's stellar performance, including two goals and an assist, propelled the Toronto Sceptres to a 4-3 victory over the New York Sirens at Prudential Center. This win breaks Toronto's two-game losing streak against Montreal, while New York suffers their fourth consecutive loss.

The Sceptres took an early lead at 9:19 in the first period when Compher capitalized on a loose puck, sending a shot off the crossbar and into the net. However, Kristýna Kaltounková, the Sirens' first overall pick, tied the game at 17:37 with a rebound goal after an initial save by Elaine Chuli.

Toronto regained the lead early in the second period with Blayre Turnbull's power-play goal at 1:21. Kaltounková responded again at 6:17, scoring her second of the game on a power play to tie the score at 2-2. Emma Maltais then put the Sceptres ahead 3-2 at 7:36 of the second period.

In the third period, with just a couple of minutes left on the clock, Compher scored an empty-net goal, extending Toronto's lead to 4-2. Taylor Girard scored for the Sirens with an extra attacker at 18:44, narrowing the gap to 4-3, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Sceptres' lead.

Elaine Chuli was instrumental in the Sceptres' victory, making a season-high 37 saves. Kayle Osborne stopped 23 of 26 shots for New York.

Compher commented on the team's performance, expressing excitement about getting back in the win column and hoping to maintain the momentum into 2026.

The Sceptres will return home to face Ottawa on Tuesday, while the Sirens will play Seattle in Dallas on December 28 as part of the PWHL Takeover Tour.
