Hyderabad, India - At the pre-release event for the upcoming horror-comedy film "The Raja Saab" in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, actor Prabhas showered praise on his co-star Sanjay Dutt, lauding his captivating screen presence. The event, held on December 27, 2025, drew a massive crowd and generated considerable buzz for the film, which is slated for a pan-India release on January 9, 2026.

Prabhas, known for his simple and brief speeches, surprised the audience with a longer, more detailed talk about "The Raja Saab". He expressed his admiration for Sanjay Dutt, who plays a key role in the film. "Sanjay sir... just your screen presence is more than enough," Prabhas remarked, adding, "When they put a close-up on you, you completely consume the screen". He also admitted to being so engrossed in Dutt's scenes during the dubbing process that he forgot his own dialogues.

Prabhas also extended his appreciation to the other members of the cast and crew. He particularly praised Zarina Wahab, who plays his grandmother in the film, stating that she is also a hero in "The Raja Saab". He was deeply moved by her performance, so much that he became a fan of his on-screen grandmother. He also lauded the three leading ladies in the film for their support and hard work.

During his speech, Prabhas recalled suggesting to director Maruthi to incorporate horror-comedy elements into the film, as he felt that movies these days have become overly serious with constant action sequences. He expressed confidence in the film's entertainment value, highlighting Maruthi's direction and producer Vishwa Prasad's grand vision. Prabhas also acknowledged the contributions of the technical team, fight masters, and director of photography. He specifically thanked Thaman for elevating the film with his musical score.

"The Raja Saab" is directed and written by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. The film features Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in pivotal roles. The trailer, which was released in September, offers a glimpse into the film's intense and mysterious atmosphere, showcasing Prabhas' character being controlled through hypnosis and his romantic relationships with the female leads.

Prabhas also took a moment to acknowledge the senior actors from whom he has learned so much. He wished success for all the films releasing during Sankranthi, including "The Raja Saab". He also joked about his speeches when the crowd started chanting "Baahubali" and promised to surprise them with his spontaneity in the future.
