K-Pop Stray Kids Defamation Case: ‘No Leniency Or Settlements Will Be Considered’, Says Agency

JYP Entertainment, the agency representing K-Pop group Stray Kids, has issued a strong statement regarding ongoing legal action against individuals spreading malicious and defamatory content about the group. The agency confirmed on December 27, 2025, that they are pursuing firm legal measures to protect Stray Kids' rights and interests, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy with no settlements for perpetrators.

The agency has been actively monitoring online platforms to collect evidence of false information, defamatory remarks, malicious slander, and ridicule targeting the artists, both domestically and internationally. JYP Entertainment stated that they are filing both criminal complaints and civil lawsuits based on the collected evidence.

This firm stance follows previous instances where Stray Kids members have been targeted by online defamation. Notably, Felix of Stray Kids recently took legal action against an anonymous user on X (formerly Twitter) who repeatedly posted false accusations. The user alleged that Felix "treats staff like servants" and "acts like a prince," causing him significant mental and emotional distress, as well as damage to his reputation.

Felix initially filed a civil defamation lawsuit at the Seoul Eastern District Court, but the case was stalled because the defendant's real identity and address could not be identified. Subsequently, Felix pursued discovery proceedings in the United States, targeting X to reveal the user's identity.

On September 5, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted Felix permission to subpoena X for personally identifiable information (PII). This ruling allowed Felix's legal team to obtain identifying details about the individual behind the defamatory posts, enabling him to proceed with the lawsuit in Korea. The court emphasized that the request was narrowly tailored to the minimum necessary for identifying the anonymous user and proceeding with litigation in Korea.

The agency's strong stance and active pursuit of legal action reflect a growing trend in the K-Pop industry to protect artists from online harassment and defamation. By vowing to show no leniency or consider settlements, JYP Entertainment is sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated and that they are committed to safeguarding the well-being and reputation of their artists. Fans have widely supported these legal actions, expressing their disbelief in the false allegations and voicing their support for the members of Stray Kids.
