Neha Bhasin's Candid Revelation: Exploring Her Personal Decision to Forego Motherhood and Embrace a Child-Free Life.

In a recent interview, singer-songwriter Neha Bhasin, known for her work in Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, and independent Indian pop and Punjabi folk music, opened up about her decision not to have children, emphasizing that it is a deeply personal choice. Bhasin, who married music composer Sameer Uddin in 2016, shared her perspective on the YouTube show “Rashami Ke Dil Se Dil Tak” with host Rashami Desai.

Bhasin and Uddin revealed that they both came to a mutual understanding early in their relationship that having children was not something they desired. "We never wanted to have our own kids," the couple stated. Bhasin explained that there isn't one specific reason for their decision, but rather a shared feeling that they wish to keep their "moh-maya" (attachments and illusions) with themselves. They also challenged the traditional notion of legacy, asserting that it "doesn't necessarily have to be biological".

Bhasin, who celebrated her 43rd birthday in November, has been vocal about prioritizing her career and personal aspirations. In the past, she has mentioned wanting to focus on her English album and a world tour. In an earlier interview, Bhasin expressed a desire to "achieve all my dreams".

Instead of raising children, Bhasin has expressed a strong desire to support orphaned children. "I am not going to be a mother in this life," she stated, adding, "I want to have an orphanage, where I nurture at least 10 to 12 children, give them education, love and the life they deserve". She has felt a connection to orphaned children since childhood and initially considered adoption. However, she later realized she wanted to do something bigger and is planning to start working towards opening an orphanage in the next few years.

During the conversation with Rashami Desai, Bhasin also touched upon the dynamics of her relationship with Uddin, particularly regarding balancing work and their marriage. She admitted that individuals like her and Sam, as she lovingly refers to her husband, might not be cut out for traditional marriage, emphasizing that their primary focus is creation. She jokingly said that she would always be his second love.

Bhasin highlighted the deep understanding and acceptance she's found in her marriage. "For me, why I love this relationship is because I've always felt misunderstood in life, and in this marriage, I never feel misunderstood," she revealed. She also appreciates Uddin's acceptance of her, just as she accepts his dedication to his work, even if it means he works late into the night.

Neha Bhasin's open and honest discussion about her choice not to have children reflects a growing trend of individuals challenging societal norms and making decisions that align with their personal values and aspirations. Her focus on creating a positive impact through her music and her desire to nurture orphaned children demonstrate a unique approach to legacy and family.
