Cricket fans in Bangladesh and India have a reason to rejoice as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced that India will tour Bangladesh in September 2026 for a series of three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The series, initially scheduled for August 2025, was postponed due to scheduling conflicts and has now been confirmed for the following year.

The Indian team is slated to arrive in Bangladesh on August 28, 2026, setting the stage for a thrilling white-ball cricket contest. The ODI series will kick off on September 1, followed by matches on September 3 and 6. The T20I series will then commence on September 9, with subsequent games on September 12 and 13.

Full Schedule:

  • 1st ODI: September 1, 2026
  • 2nd ODI: September 3, 2026
  • 3rd ODI: September 6, 2026
  • 1st T20I: September 9, 2026
  • 2nd T20I: September 12, 2026
  • 3rd T20I: September 13, 2026

While the BCB has confirmed the dates, the venues for the matches are yet to be announced. Cricket enthusiasts across Bangladesh are eagerly awaiting the announcement to make their plans to witness the games live.

This tour is a significant event in Bangladesh's home international season for 2026, which includes a packed schedule of matches against other top cricketing nations. Before India's arrival, Bangladesh is set to host Pakistan for ODIs in March and Tests in May, New Zealand for a white-ball series in April-May and Australia for three ODIs and three T20Is in June. Following the series against India, Bangladesh will conclude their home season with a two-Test series against the West Indies in October and November.

According to the BCB, the confirmed itinerary ensures a season full of international cricket in Bangladesh, providing supporters across the country with the opportunity to watch top-level cricket at home. The series against India is expected to be a major attraction, drawing large crowds and generating significant interest.

The BCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had mutually agreed to postpone the series from August 2025 to September 2026, considering the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams.

Beyond this series, India has a busy schedule in 2026, including a home series against New Zealand in January, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in February-March (co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka), a home series against Afghanistan in June, and a tour of England in July. Later in the year, India is also scheduled to tour New Zealand.
